Christmas Party, December 2016

December 2016 Christmas Party

We had a marvelous Christmas pot luck. Kris and Paul brought chicken and everyone else brought salads, desserts and vegetable dishes galore. What a spread!

Gary and Diana were our December hosts. There were no write-ups or demos but some people brought books to exchange and donate. Gary dressed as Santa and Diana took pictures and made copies for those who wanted one.

Ken was the new comer, hailing from Georgia. His collection of two cell phones, a tablet and a notebook computer were displayed and used to play games. We gave him all the food he could eat and wished him a healthy return.

As the meeting came to a close, the outlook for many was bleak. Health, financial, legal and retirement problems compete with full stomachs and optimistic plans for mind's control. We wish, work and pray for a better new year, not only for our members but also for their extended families.

We also look forward to the earnest efforts of our future meeting hosts to providing learning experiences at our meetings that are both fun/educational and thought provoking.

Christmas Party Invitation, 2016

Holiday Greetings to All!!!!

It's our annual Christmas Party and meeting.
We'll feature demos, a potluck, and the buy/sell/trade/give of things
you don't need any longer.

!Diane and Gary are co-hosts for this meeting. As long time supporters and leaders of this club, we're excited to see what they have planned and so hope Santa and his helper will come as they have in the past to make our meeting extra special.

3 As some have asked: YES, we will have the potluck again. Please bring a dish to share and if you have some meat, bring some along, too. Since I don't know how much is in the treasury, it's hard to commit to a big meat purchase.

4 To supplement the demos Diane and Gary bring, we're asking everyone to bring a couple of their favorite websites to show at the meeting. We'll have a projector setup so that you can show why you like them. Naturally, should you know of sites to avoid, share those too.

5 Don't forget to invite those you believe could enjoy our user group. The are so many people of all ages who know so little and could learn so much about computers by attending our meetings. Let's get them involved at our party and then convince them to join. Yes, that means computer guru's too. They need to have a place where they can share their expertise and grow the computing community!

6 Remember to carpool when possible. Those who live a ways away might be concerned with inclement weather and hazardous driving. Help them by offering to carpool. Not only is there safety in numbers, but it makes the drive a lot more enjoyable (Christmas Carols, brainstorming on how to grown KRVCUG, etc.). This also works for new people you invite.

7 Don't forget to bring the buy/sell/trade/give — things you no longer need. Fight waste and share with those who could actually use the products/software.

Well, now that we've addressed the magical 7 things to make your Christmas meeting special, it's time to part with a hearty ho! ho! Ho!!!!

Merry Christmas!

Your Pres.& V.P.

Kris & Paul
