November's Cells, Tablets and MakerFaire

Paul, Jane and Kris all shared information they gathered on cell phone plans, the use of tablets and a MakerFaire.

Paul handed out a sheet of services, plans, and costs of several cellular companies in the area. He reiterated the fact that paying for traditional dial-tone service along with long-distance charges is pretty unnecessary for anyone already paying for high-speed internet service or a cellphone.

Jane talked of various uses she's found for her iPad, from quick internet access for reading and entertainment to using local library services for ebook checkouts. We're anticipating another demo when Jane gets a cable allowing her to connect to a projector.  She's going to show us how she borrows ebooks and uses a wide range of apps

Kris then showed some short videos he made at a local MakerFaire: including 3d printing, drones, and a robotics 'ball' demo.
