Having put together a rudimentary club blog on WordPress.com, I thought it only right to see what Google's Blogger.com site might have, as our club's main email address is a gmail offering. I'm not yet sure what benefits there are to keeping all of our clubs web services in one basket, so this trial should prove educational.

I've chosen a picture from a 2007 meeting to see how easy it was to manipulate and place. You can apparently choose between 4 different size options (Small, Medium, Large, and Original Size) and three different placement options (Left, Center, and Right). There is also an option to add a caption, which I've utilized. Unlike WordPress, which adds a colored border around the picture when adding a caption, this template of Blogger keeps a clean border around the picture with the caption underneath.
The picture I've chosen was from our Picasa.com account (another Google product), but, as with WordPress, we have the option of uploading a picture from our own computer. Unlike WordPress, I must press the "Enter" key twice to get the nice double-spaced paragraph look. Not a problem, just a difference in the editing environments of the two sites. Otherwise both have formatting bars above the editor window to change font attributes like this as well as adding pics, flics, and even add quotations in this manner:
You haven't stopped talking since I came here! You must have been vaccinated with a phonograph needle! :Groucho Marx
A single punch of the "Enter" key gets you back out of the quote. This also looks to be a good possibility for the club.
